Before beginning work on this project, Winer Observatory will undertake a review of its Board of Directors and its policies and procedures for corporate governance, employment, and procurement to determine if changes are needed to meet the demands of this project. The Winer Board of Directors currently consists of three members, and it may want to add two to four members with expertise in areas relevant to Project ASTEROID.
Since the project will require the award of contracts in excess of $1 million, the Winer Board of Directors will also review and strengthen written policies and procedures for corporate governance, and policies related to procurements, to ensure that a fair and transparent procurement policy is in place, that it complies with all legal requirements, and that the Board has proper oversight of the project while giving proper responsibility and authority to the Project Manager.
